Frequently Asked Questions About Our Psychological Evaluations

How long will the evaluation process take?

The length of a psychological evaluation depends on the age of the client and the reason for referral. For children, the assessment process should take approximately one to two hours. For adolescents and adults, the assessment process should take approximately two to three hours.

What can I expect during the evaluation process?
While the process of an evaluation depends on the age of the client and the reason for referral, it typically involves test administration and a clinical interview with the client, the client’s primary caregiver, and/or someone who knows the client well.
How will this help me?
With diagnostic certainty, interventions/recommendations will be tailored to meet each client’s needs, including medical / psychiatric referrals, academic referrals, and specific types of therapy that are best suited for each client.
What happens after the Psychological Evaluation?
Within two to three weeks, depending on our caseload, you will receive the result of psychological evaluation and a feedback session. The feedback session, which typically comes in a phone consultation, involves a discussion surrounding the results of the evaluation.
Do you accept walk-in clients?
Unfortunately, no. All evaluations must be scheduled in advance, which allows adequate time for our clinicians to adequately prepare for your appointment.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please bring any documentation that you consider relevant to your evaluation. Some examples include a previous psychological evaluation, school-based documentation, professional documentation, etc.
What if I can’t make it to my appointment?
In the event that you will not be able to attend your scheduled appointment, we ask that you provide us with advance notice (at least 24 hours).
Will I be charged if I miss my appointment?

In order to provide you with optimal care, your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. In return, we ask that you provide us with a minimum of 24-hours advance notice if you are unable to make it to your appointment. In the event that you do not provide us with 24-hours of notice, we have a $25 cancellation fee.
